At the meeting of the Podravka d.d. Supervisory Board held on 15 February 2002, a decision was made to purchase Ital-Ice, a company from Porec. The activities of Podravka are aimed at market segments which show exceptional growth and through which it can exceed the market average. To implement these business goals more rapidly, Podravka has decided to proceed with the acquisition of Ital-Ice, a high-quality producer of ice cream and cakes, and distributor of frozen food. The acquisition of Ital-Ice will enable Podravka to expand its frozen food category and to extend its business activities in the gastronomic distribution channel and in retail.

By acquiring Ital-Ice, Podravka is strengthening its market position through a wider and higher-quality supply. In addition, the synergy that is created by expanding into the category of frozen products allows for the development of programmes such as fruit and vegetables, meat and meat products, and bakery products, which can already be found within the Podravka range.
