In 2006, Podravka d.d. will meet its seasonal workforce needs through the Dekra d.o.o. Agency for Temporary Employment, with which Podravka concluded an Agreement on the Cession of Employees. Dekra operates in the Republic of Croatia through 11 regional centres and was prepared to best adapt its offer to Podravka’s needs. The Agency for Temporary Employment acts as an employer who cedes its employees on employment contracts to Podravka as beneficiary, for temporary seasonal activities.
In this way, Dekra takes on all the obligations towards the employee prescribed by the Employment Act (pension and health insurance registration, calculation and payment of salary, health examination, and other administrative tasks), as well as all the risks of employment related to sick-leave and other eventualities, because the Agency commits itself to finding a replacement for an absent employee. In this way, Podravka, as the user, has the opportunity to use a seasonal workforce to suits its needs and business activities, and to pay Dekra only the effective working hours of the employee, which will enable Podravka to achieve savings. About ten persons will be the first employees ceded by Dekra on 27 February this year for the needs of the Cocktail Snacks Factory, and further cessions will be implemented in conformity with the Annual Personnel Plan of the Podravka Group for 2006.
Podravka delivered its records on the seasonal workforce employed in 2005 to Dekra, and the Agency will use them to recruit employees and cede them for the needs of Podravka’s organisational units where they had worked before. With the Agreement on the Cession of Employees, Decra commits itself to giving priority in employment to the sons and daughters of Podravka’s employees. For this reason, records of the offspring of Podravka’s employees who have not been employed so far have also been delivered to Dekra.
