Podravka and Sportske novosti continue cooperation in Čokolino All-rounder project until 2010

Čokolino All-rounder for the students of third to sixth graders of elementary schools. Čokolino All-rounder for the first time was held from September 2006 to April 2007 in 24 elementary schools. Each of the sport events was accompanied by one of the top Croatian sportsmen or sportswomen.

Management Board chairmen of Podravka and Sportske novosti, Darko Marinac and Zvonimir Boban, signed a cooperation contract on the project Čokolino All-rounder until the year 2010.

"Not for a moment there was a doubt in our minds about entering this valuable and humane project, intended for those we care the most, our youngest, our children. The idea of Čokolino All-rounder, intended for children in elementary schools which encourages amateur and recreational sport, Podravka will continue to develop in the following three school years. Sport spirit and team performance is the most valuable thing we can inspire with our children," said Darko Marinac after signing the contract.

Zvonimir Boban, the creator of the idea of Čokolino All-rounder, the legend of Croatian football, today the Management Board chairman of Sportske novosti, sports weekly, said: “The format of the all-rounder where you get to compete against your peers, but you also get the chance to beat those older and stronger than you, and in the process having great sport heroes beside you is a full hit. In the world we live in it is sometimes hard to find the time for your own children, let alone thinking about other people’s. It seems that the project Čokolino All-rounder has succeeded in this idea and that makes us really proud."

During the school year 2006/2007 Podravka and Sportske novosti have for the first time organized this sports competition, Čokolino All-rounder for the students of third to sixth graders of elementary schools. Each of the sport events was accompanied by one of the top Croatian sportsmen or sportswomen (Goran Ivanišević, Blanka Vlašić, Vedran Ćorluka, Adrijana Prosenjak, Vlado Šola, Robert Prosinečki, Daniel Šarić, Ante Rukavina, Davor Šuker, Domagoj Duvnjak, Gordan Kožulj, Dražen Ladić, Dubravko Šimenc, Slavko Goluža, Tamara Boroš, Mirko Filipović, Franjo Arapović, Stojko Vranković, Ognjen Kržić, Aljoša Asanović, Miroslav Ćiro Blažević, Ivana Brkljačić, Janica Kostelić and Dino Rađa).

Next to the sport competition, a literary competition was also held to the subject "What will you be when you grow up?". Expert commission – Maja Gjerek, vice-president of the Croatian Writers Association, Pajo Kanižaj, writer for children and Ante Tomić, writer and the columnist of Jutarnji list daily paper – selected the best literary work "Long into the night", by Kristina Skroče, 8th C grade, Elementary School Šimun Kožičić Benja.

The literary works can be seen at an appropriate exhibition at the Tin Ujević library in Zagreb, from 12th to 30th June.
The finals of the Čokolino All-rounder will be held on Saturday, 16th June, at 2.00 PM at the Sports Hall in Koprivnica.
