In this case study Seid Maglajlic investigated the social networks that are implicitly formed by trainees and trainers in the E-Learning environment in industrial settings. The case study is based on experimental results in an industrial setting that have indicated that there is a room for improvement of the learning outcome of the E-Learning trainees. The position of the trainee in these implicit social networks of the E-Learning setup has shown to be correlated with the learning outcome. The methods for the improvement of the learning outcome by utilization the implicit social networks of trainees and tutors as well as the possibilities of social network engineering in order to influence the learning outcome by placing the trainee to the appropriate position in the social network are shown in this case study. As the final outcome of the case study, the overview of the results gathered until now is provided and a framework for a future discussion is proposed.
