Innovative ways and tools for automating web search and visualization of its results will be demonstrated in this workshop. They are the results of the WeSeRV project, aimed at automating common search sequences and combining the search results in an intuitive way revealing connections between, for example, authors, institutions, projects, events and data sources.

Vizualizacija rezultata web pretraživanja

U okviru radionice prikazat će se inovativni alati za automatizaciju web pretraga i vizualizaciju rezultata pretrage razvijeni u okviru WeSeRV projekta. Razvijeni alati imaju za cilj automatizirati uobičajene sljedove pretraga i predstavljanje rezultata na intuitivan način koji pospješuje otkrivanje veza između, primjerice, autora, institucija, projekata, događaja i izvora podataka. 

Pretraživanje informacija učestali je postupak u znanstvenom, obrazovnom i profesionalnom radu, pogotovo danas kada nam web i Internet omogućavaju jednostavan pristup obilju znanja. Dok se pri pretraživanju pojedinačnih tema tipično koristimo sličnim izvorima informacija, za otkrivanje trenutnog stanja znanja u nekom području potreban nam je ipak niz pretraga u više on-line baza podataka i potom ručna organizacija i povezivanje dobivenih rezultata, kao i procjena relevantnosti izvora podataka. Metode i alati razvijeni u okviru WeSeRV projekta temelje se na NetGlub alatu i služe kao automatizirana podrška ovom procesu.

In scientific, educational and professional work we frequently search for information. Internet and web especially have brought the wealth of data, information and knowledge literally at our fingertips. Usually, we use similar information sources in our search from one topic to another. However, investigating the state of knowledge on any specific topic is usually performed as a sequence of searches in a number of on-line databases and subsequent manual sorting and connecting results, and identifying the most likely source of relevant information. The methods and tools developed in the WeSeRV project are based on the NetGLub application and significantly improve this process.

Juraj Petrović

Juraj Petrović je znanstveni novak i student doktorskog studija na Fakultetu elektrotehnike i računarstva Sveučilišta u Zagrebu. Teme kojima se bavi uključuju teorije učenja i njihove implikacije, tehnologije i metodologiju e-učenja, okoline za učenje temeljene na snimkama predavanja, e-ispitivanje i modeliranje znanja, te digitalnu obradbu signala. Koautor je na više znanstvenih publikacija i drži predavanja o primjenama računala u usvajanju i provjeri znanja.

Juraj Petrović is a research fellow at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb. His research topics include learning theories and their implications, e-learning and distant learning technologies and methodology, lecture-capture based learning environments, e-assessment and knowledge modeling, and digital signal processing. He is also a coauthor of several scientific publications and gives lectures on application of computers in learning and knowledge assessment.
