Two years before the deadline, Podravka’s Vegeta factory in Mohács has received certification from the Veterinary Inspection and Control of Food of the Baranja County in Pécs on the successful implementation of the HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) System. This represents an acknowledgement that health and safety regulations are applied in food production and that quality control reaches high standards. A regulation has been adopted in Hungrary that all companies producing food must introduce the HACCP System by the year 2002, otherwise they will not be able to carry out their activities. Since the Podravka factory in Mohács achieved this in good time, the Hungarian State subsidised 30% of its costs.

The introduction of the HACCP System was made possible thanks to the joint efforts of the members of the HACCP team from Podravka Kft. Mohács and the IMS (Integrated Management System) project team from Podravka Koprivnica.

The establishment of the HACCP System in the Mohács factory represents only the first step in the realisation of Vegeta’s pilot project that has the goal of implementing an integrated management system based on the ISO 9001:2000 model.
