Siemens d.d. and Podravka d.d. sign an agreement on equipping a new Podravka meals plant

Siemens and Podravka signed an Agreement on equipping a new Podravka Meals plant today. Mirko Barišić, Chairman of the Board, signed the Agreement on behalf of Siemens, and Darko Marinac, President of the Management Board, signed it on behalf of Podravka. The value of the Agreement is almost 28 million kuna.

In accordance with this Agreement and on the basis of previous positive experiences and past co-operation (Siemens took part in the construction of the Vegeta plant), Siemens will connect all the processes in the Podravka Meals plant through an information system. This will enable the production processes to be monitored through the use of information technology and at the same time the new Podravka Meals plant will be united with the central SAP system of the Podravka Group.

As Željko Đurđina, Vice President of Podravka’s Board said: “Given Podravka’s past co-operation with Siemens which took part in the construction and equipping of the Vegeta plant, I can only say that we are extremely satisfied with the partnership we have developed so far. Safety, quality of service and know-how which are synonymous with Siemens enable Podravka to maintain the highest possible quality standards related to products and all business processes.”

The project within the Podravka Meals plant will put into use SICALIS software, state-of-the-art SIMATIC equipment for automatisation systems, SIRIUS assembling equipment and SIMODRIVE electric motor drives,” said Ivan Škrtić, Head of Automatisation and Drive Techniques in Siemens d.d.

Podravka Meals are one of Podravka’s most significant product programmes. During the first six months of this year, the sales of Podravka Meals were 127.9 million kuna, which is 9% higher over the same period last year. Podravka Meals accounted for 10.4 % in the revenue structure of total sales of the Podravka Group in the first six months of the year.

Podravka Meals include the following brands: – Podravka soups (delicatessen soups, clear soups, creamy soups, regional, national and folk soups, stock-cube soups, seasoning cubes and soup complements) – Talianetta (pasta-based and rice-based semi-cooked dishes)> – Fant (special food complements and Fant mixtures for salad dressings, sauces and spreads and Fant sauces) – Fini-Mini (instant soups)
