Prof. Zlata Bartl Foundation Awards Scholarships and Grants

At a ceremony held in Koprivnica, the President of Podravka’s Management Board, Darko Marinac, handed the scholarships and grants awarded by the “Prof. Zlata Bartl” Foundation. The Foundation, which was established by Podravka in honour of Vegeta’s inventor, awarded a total of 20 scholarships and grants to undergraduate and postgraduate students for the academic year 2005/2006. This is the second year that the Foundation has awarded grants and scholarships to successful Croatian students. Despite the high criteria of the competition this year, around 20% more students applied than in the previous academic year.

The award criteria were very demanding. Undergraduate students of up to 22 years of age were eligible for a scholarship, provided that they had not failed a year, and if their grade average in their studies so far had been at least 4.5.

Furthermore, postgraduate students not older than 30 years of age were also eligible for a grant or scholarship, if their grade average at undergraduate level had been a minimum of 4.5, and if they had advanced knowledge of two world languages, one of which had to be English, as well as advanced computer skills – computer literacy.

Candidates who met the above criteria were additionally evaluated on their academic results, as the main criterion, research and/or professional papers, the dean’s and chancellor’s awards, and international awards, as well as teachers’ references. Priority was given to students who had completed more years of study and those of a disadvantaged socio-economic status who met the above conditions.
