On 9 April 2003, the foundation “Zaklada 2020” presented the project of drawing up a scenario of development for Croatia under the title “Croatia’s Creatia 2010”. Mr Petar Turković, leader of the project, presented both the foundation and the scenario.

The “Zaklada 2020” foundation was established at the beginning of 2000 with the wish to contribute to the development of Croatia, as a democratic and modern European country, in the next twenty years. In autumn 2001, the foundation nominated some forty experts and professionals from different sectors of society (the economy, finances, tourism, health care, journalism, new technologies, etc.) who made up the basic working team engaged in drawing up the development scenario of Croatia as part of the project entitled “Croatia’s Creatia 2010”.

The project of drawing up the scenario took place from September 2001 to May 2002. The final results of the work of “Zaklada 2020” are three scenarios that illustrate several ways for Croatia to develop until 2010. One of the tasks of the foundation is also to inspire through this scheme other Croatian citizens to think about and discuss the future of our country.

The establishment of the foundation is related to the Taellberg Foundation in Sweden, which has been led for twenty-two years by Bo Ekman, a former leading figure in Volvo, and today an intellectual and consultant who brings together ideas and resources from all over the world through his company Nextwork, and the Taellberg Foundation.

Podravka, as the largest food company in South-East and Central Europe, participated in the process of drawing up the development scenario for Croatia, “Croatia’s Creatia 2010”. Podravka also supports high-quality projects, and the work of the association, and takes special care of the development of the environment it operates in. It also relates its business operation to the development of the social community where it functions.
