The Podravka meat industry has obtained the ISO 9001:2000 certificate for quality in business operations. This is the result of auditing performed throughout March by Podravka’s certification company Det Norske Veritas (DNV).
The report made by the Norwegians especially praised the segments of slaughterhouses and the production of tinned meat, stressing the good work organisation, the system by which performance is monitored, marketing pursued through the high-quality monitoring of competition and based on an analysis of the success of marketing campaigns, as well as control conducted through a proactive approach, and price analyses of raw materials and products, and finally the implemented mentorship system for trainees.
The Podravka meat industry underwent the same certifying process as other segments of the Podravka Group that have already received this certificate and which was verified again by the Norwegians during March. The stress was on the training of employees in management systems, drawing up documentation, the implementation of defined processes and other documents, internal audits and the correction of detected inconsistencies, the preliminary audit of the certification company, i.e. “dress rehearsal”. As in other projects where systems are introduced, the most difficult phase was the implementation of defined processes and other documents in practical business operations.
