Podravka awarded 'Superbrand Slovakia'

Podravka has so far received the "Superbrand" award in Poland, Hungary and Russia where it was rewarded for the Vegeta brand. This time it was Podravka brand that was rewarded, as Vegeta is produced under that name for Czech and Polish market being Podravka's renowned product, recognizable in design by its blue color and the famous winking chef.

Luxor Business Club in Bratislava was a venue for awarding Podravka with "Superbrand Slovakia" for year 2005. Choosing Superbrands in Slovakia was organized for the first time in this market where Podravka has been present since ’60s of the last century. This prestigious recognition Podravka was awarded by the leading Slovak brand experts ranking it among top 35, the very peak of the competition constituted of 1200 brands on Slovakian market. – This is a very important reward, considering Superbrand is awarded in Slovakia for the first time, and Podravka brand has been recognized as one of the best – said Marketing Director of Podravka in Slovak Republic, Tomislav Horvat, adding that this award results from the effort of all Podravka’s employees on this market.

Products in Podravka’s portfolio on Slovakian market include food supplements, soups, baby food, condiments, and by acquisition of Lagris 4 years ago Podravka significantly expanded its portfolio adding products based on rice, vetch and legumes, and is a leading supplier of dry spices in this market. According to Podravka’s organizational structure, Slovakian market, together with Polish and Czech belongs to the Central Europe Sector, which realized about 225 million HRK of total sales revenue in the first half of this year, which is about 13.4% of total sales revenue of the Podravka Group.
