Podravka and Unilever Croatia sign new contract

Unilever Croatia and Podravka d.d. signed in Koprivnica a new contract on the distribution of ice-cream.

Unilever Croatia and Podravka d.d. signed in Koprivnica a new contract on the distribution of ice-cream. The Contract was signed by member of Podravka’s Management Board, Mr. Miroslav Vitković, and the head of Unilever Croatia, Mr. Milivoj Librenjak.

Pursuant to the contract, Podravka will be the exclusive distributor of Algida ice-cream for the territory of the Republic of Croatia through its Poreč-based company Ital-ice. Ital-Ice had been the distributor of Unilever ice-cream for the territory of Istria for many years, which continued even after 2002 when it was purchased by Podravka. This year, the logistic and distribution potential of Podravka has been expanded significantly and the necessary requirements have been met for Podravka to become the exclusive distributor for the whole of Croatia.

"We are pleased to continue the distribution of one of the most successful ice-cream brands in the world. The contract covers the next two-year period and it was satisfactorily concluded by both parties. In this way, Podravka will distribute Nestle and Unilever products in the Croatian market. The fact that these are the two largest world companies in the world proves our growing potential, not only in building our own brands, but also in distribution," said Miroslav Vitković, member of the Podravka Board who is in charge of the Croatian market and the markets of South Eastern Europe.

By taking over the Poreč-based Ital-ice in 2002, Podravka expanded its business activity into the category of ice-cream, frozen and chilled food. This year, revenue of about HRK 50 million was recorded in this business category.
