HALAL certificate presented to Podravka's meat industry

Podravka’s meat industry received the HALAL certificate which guarantees that the production processes and products have been adapted to the dietary requirements of people of Islamic faith. The certificate was presented to Podravka by the representatives of the Meshihat of the Islamic Community in Croatia which is authorised to issue this certificate in the territory of Croatia. The first delivery of products with the HALAL mark, Beef Goulash and Chicken Spread, has already been exported to the market of Sweden, and it is expected that cooperation will also soon be established with other European countries. This should increase the proportion of exports in the revenues of Podravka’s meat industry, which amounted to HRK 270 million in 2004, of which less than 20% came from exports.

This certificate is further proof of the quality of Podravka’s meats programme. Recently, Podravka’s meat industry also received the ISO 9000:2001 certificate of quality in business. In addition, it has obtained an extension of the certificate of the American inspection for exports to the market of the USA, while Beef Goulash and Čajna cured sausages have been assigned the “Croatian Creation” and “Croatian Quality” awards for quality.
