Blue Sun Hotels and Podravka sign agreement on cooperation

One of the leading Croatian hotel chains, Blue Sun Hotels, and Podravka d.d. signed an agreement on business cooperation. The agreement was signed by the Director of Blue Sun Hotels, Ms. Sanja Gagulić, and Podravka Board member, Mr. Miroslav Vitković.

In accordance with the Agreement, Podravka will complete the implementation, supervision and upgrading of the HACCP system in the facilities of Blue Sun Hotels by the end of 2008. The implementation of the HACCP system will be tailor-made for each member of Blue Sun Hotels. The following hotels will be included: Hoteli Tučepi d.d. Tučepi, Hoteli Brela d.d. Brela, Zlatni Rat d.d. Bol, and Hotel Alan Starigrad – Paklenica, and the hotel facilities within Blue Sun Hotels. Blue Sun Hotels comprise 12 hotels with a total capacity of about 5,000 hotel beds.

The agreement confirms the strategic partnership between these two companies which extends beyond the concept of a classic commercial relationship. Blue Sun Hotels has recognised Podravka not only as a reliable and exceptional supplier, but also as a food company willing to transfer its know-how and good business practice to its business partners and thus contribute to mutual profitable business. This is the first and a unique agreement in Croatian business practice whose commercial value exceeds HRK 13 million. According to preliminary estimates, the indirect effects of the agreement are almost double the amount mentioned.

The purpose of the implementation of the HACCP system in Blue Sun Hotels is not only to establish suitable standards within positive legal regulations, but also to raise the quality of business process management which will result in a higher quality of catering services and an increased level of security for guests on a European level. The HACCP system is not only a legal requirement, but it is also a significant management tool for every hotel and catering company. The management of Blue Sun Hotels has recognised in Podravka a strategic partner whose excellence and quality in business process management are solid guarantees for the implementation of the project. At the same time, Blue Sun Hotels have secured high-quality conference premises in the recently renovated Elaphusa Hotel in Bol on the island of Brač, thereby responding to the needs of Podravka for the continual improvement of its production processes in terms of the organisation of all types of conference contents.
