Agrokor and Podravka introduce B2B
The signed Agreement is yet another in a series of projects of successful cooperation between Podravka and Agrokor. It enables a speedier, more fluent and simpler flow of information between these two companies. Following global trends in the application of state-of-the-art technologies, Agrokor and Podravka have taken a significant step forward in introducing e-business, thus promoting their business systems.
Ivica Todorić, President of the Management Board of Agrokor, and Darko Marinac, President of the Podravka Management Board, have signed an Agreement on the Electronic Exchange of Business Messages.
The signed Agreement is yet another in a series of projects of successful cooperation between Podravka and Agrokor. It enables a speedier, more fluent and simpler flow of information between these two companies. Following global trends in the application of state-of-the-art technologies, Agrokor and Podravka have taken a significant step forward in introducing e-business, thus promoting their business systems.
The first exchange of business messages has already been executed and it is planned to expand to other companies within the Agrokor concern.
Following the trends of e-government and integrated applications, the technology of web services has been selected as an applied technological solution for all environments. In practice, the system set up in Agrokor searches Konzum’s database of orders and sends all newly created and additional orders to Podravka using the Internet. Podravka then receives the order and stores it in its database without any additional processing and delivers the ordered goods to Konzum. The application of e-business takes the burden off employees and reduces the possibility of mistakes.
Mladen Kovačić, Director of New Technologies in Podravka, and Marina Šimunić, Head of Internet/Intranet support in Agrokor, worked together with their teams on the project.
The successful conclusion of this huge project is the result of research over many years by the Agrokor team and by scientists from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing on the possibilities for the implementation of an e-business environment.
The Agreement enables both companies to achieve more efficient and speedier business operations with reduced costs. Podravka and Agrokor are the first not only in Croatia but also in this part of Europe to have set up a data exchange between companies which are heterogeneous in terms of information.
The Agreement should serve as a platform for other partners and clients of both companies since in e-business we aim to be the leaders in the application of new technologies.
