Marinated veggie steaks

  • 8 seitan steaks (about 1 cm thick)
  • 1 Vegeta Grill marinade with beer 100 g
  • 50 ml olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 150 ml sour cream
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp grated ginger root
  • Salt
  • Podravka peppercorn mix
  • Podravka relish - mild

  1. Drizzle the seitan steaks with Vegeta marinade with beer and allow to rest for at least 30-40 minutes.
  2. Cook the marinated seitan steaks on greased medium hot grill for a couple of minutes each side, brushing with the remaining marinade.
  3. Mince the garlic, add 3 spoonfuls olive oil, the sour cream, mayonnaise, grated ginger and a pinch of salt. Mix to blend and add crushed mixed peppercorns.

Serving: Serve seitan steaks with a spoonful of mild relish or sauce of your choice, and a tossed salad.

Advice: Seitan is nutritious high-protein, low-fat and cholesterol-free food. It is a great source of iron, vitamin C, thiamine, riboflavin and niacin, and a wonderful substitute for meat.
