The Zlatna Dionica (Golden Share) and Zlatni Udjel (Golden Unit) awards have been presented for the ninth year in a row to the companies whose shares, in the opinion of the jury, had the best results on the Zagreb and Varaždin Stock Exchanges in 2005. This year, 42 shares were nominated. The Zagreb company Dalekovod won the “Golden Share” award for 2005, as well as the industrial share of the year award in the category “other”. The industrial share of the year in the category food and pharmaceuticals went to Podravka, the financial share went to Privredna banka Zagreb, the best industrial share in tourism was awarded to Istraturist, while the most liquid share was awarded to the Adris Group.
Special awards were given to the Croatian Postal Bank for its contribution to the Croatian capital market (for the public offering of Vir shares) and to Konzum for the largest growth in market capitalisation, as well as for the share with the largest price growth (400% growth).
Among investment funds, most of the Golden Unit awards were given to the funds of Raiffeisen Invest, which was also pronounced the best investment fund management company. The following awards were given to the Raiffeisen funds: Cash for the best cash fund, Bonds for the best bond fund, and Balanced, which shared with ZG Global the award for the best balanced fund. The best share fund was Ilirika SE Europe. The awards also went to three more companies within the Raiffeisen group – The Raiffeisen Mandatory Pension Fund, The Raiffeisen Voluntary Pension Fund Management Company, and the Voluntary Pension Fund. In addition, the best closed pension fund was the Croatian Medical Union Fund under Raiffeisen’s management.
The Golden Share and the Golden Unit awards were presented on Tuesday in a ceremony organised by the TV show Poslovni klub of Croatian Television, by the business weekly magazine Lider, and by the Kapital Klub company.
