Podravka has given a new car to the Paraolympic Miroslav Matić to use

Deputy President of the Podravka Board Miroslav Vitković has given today a new car for usage - Škoda Octavia van - to the Paraolympic athlete Miroslav Matić. Having done that made Podravka one of the first companies to have given a car to a paraolympic athlete.

A 100% disabled man of Rijeka has been given a car completely adjusted to his needs, and this is another example of Podravka's social responsibility.

-We are glad to have been able to help and recognize a true need on this example. This is an exceptionally brave person who tries his best to gain good results, and we are recognizing it because we are a company with a heart. Our responsibility to the public is the basis of our work - Deputy President of the Podravka Board Miroslav Vitković has said.

-I am immensely happy because now I have the possibility to be utterly independent and go to trainings alone and in a new and safe car. Podravka really has a big heart and I will do my best that my sports results are equally big in the future. A new car will make my life easier and more dignified. - Miroslav Matić, visibly moved, has pointed out.

After a car accident, Miroslav has become tetraplegyc and as a 100% disabled person he moves in a wheelchair. Despite his grave condition he competes in the athletic fields as discus throwing and skittle throwing and he has won 56 golden medals, 11 silver medals and 5 bronze medals at many international sporting competitions for disabled people. He was named twice the sportsman of the year of sportsmen with disabilities in Rijeka and Primorsko-goranska County.

That is the reason why Podravka has decided to help Miroslav Matić, a heavily disabled person but also an excellent sportman. The given car will improve his quality of life considerably.

The Croatian paraolymic Miroslav Matić was eighth at throwing and tenth at discus throwing at the Paraolympic Games in Beijing.
