Fourth season of the educative quiz Win a trip through the doors of knowledge, prepared by the children’s magazine National Geographic Junior, starts on Saturday, 8 December 2007. In 11 cities of Croatia at 11 o’clock the first level of the quiz starts. 110 schools from entire Croatia applied to the quiz, from Vukovar to Dubrovnik. Each school is represented by one team, consisting of three students, accompanied by their teacher. 25 teams with the highest ranking on the level of entire Croatia will reach the semi-finals.
Semi-finals of this educational quiz will be held on 1 March 2008, and the final competition will be held on 3 May in Zagreb.
The main prize for the winning team in the quiz is seven-day trip to Washington and a visit to National Geographic Association and sight-seeing.
Favourite cereals with the taste of milk or white chocolate and the most delicious chocolate cream spread Čokolino, for the third year in the row are the sponsors to the quiz Win a trip through the doors of knowledge. All the contestants and their teachers will receive recognitions by the editorship of NG Junior, and Čokolino will provide additional awards in the form of a healthy breakfast and gifts.
Questions for the quiz were devised and prepared by the experts for children education, teachers and school advisers. The questions include the subjects from National Geographic Junior, knowledge of Croatia and the world, nature and society, ecology…
National Geographic Junior is being published in Croatia since September 2004, it is intended for children aging from 7 to 15, and is published with the license of one of the greatest educational and scientific organizations in the world: National Geographic Association. NG Junior has a referral by the Education and Teacher Training Agency to be used as a teaching aid and to contribute to general education and popularization of science among the young.
