Initiatives

The improvement of industrial democracy, regular, up-to-date and exact communication with your community: these are only a part of its social policy.

In its work, Podravka supports these economic, environmental and social charters, principles and initiatives:

• member of the World Business Board for sustainable development
• the first Croatian company that is the member of International Business Forum (IBLF)
• one of the founders of Croatian Business Council for sustainable development and the supporter of its Charter
• member of the Group for socially responsible business managing of the Croatian Economic Chamber
• having been involved in the realization of Global Reporting Initiative (GRI - Global Reporting Initiative)
• host of the fifth Croatian Business Management Meeting named "Economics and the sustainable development - European perspectives"
• takes part in the work and initiatives of CEC, CBA during the preparations, adjustments and enactment of legal changes, introducing new conditions and possibilites of using Europeans Funds
• works in the development of business plans for the envinornment protection projects in Croatia
• together with the Vegeta Plant in Koprivnica takes part in a pilot environment protection project to explore the possibilities of the implementation of the demand from IPPC guideline
• having signed an Agreement with the Croatian Culinary Union in order to improve the Croatian Cuisine and develop a recognizable Croaian gastronomic dishes
• member of the local Agenda 21 of the City of Koprivnica with the aim of defining and adopting the sustainable development strategy of Koprivnica and making possible the action plan of the work in community
• started the Funds for the support of the seriously ill people and takes part in clearing mines projects in Croatia
• takes part in Eureca- the project of the European Union where they explore the possiblity to substitute the part of mineral fertilizers with a new generation of organic fertilizires produced in factory
• takes part in the SEEDNet project - the preservation of herbal genetic resources
• has a technica cooperation with the USAID - the improvement of the technology for vegetable processing

Belupo

Belupo is developing a successful cooperation with the institutions and offices which try to get people to know more and take care about their health and is taking part in numerous projects:

• the project "Hospital for Teddybears -Who is afraid of the Doctor?"
• takes part in a publc health action "Zagreb and Europe Pain Prevention"
• the programme for pregnant women and nursing women; lectures and workshops; the nursing seminar: donations of health and educating materials, help in the health and education processes
• collaboration with the School of Dental Medicine and the Croatian Society for Dental Trauma and the Prevention of Caries at elementary school children

Belupo also has a good collaboration with these associations: The Nurses Association, the Catholic Nurses Association, The Community Health Nurses Association, The Pharmaceutical Assistants Association, etc

The employees

The sociali dialogue and improvement of industrial democracy is one of the biggest Podravka's characteristics. 60% of Podravka's employees who work in the Republic of Croatia has been organized in unions, and the workers have their representatives in the supervisory boards of Podravka's firms.

Stakeholders and investors

The Department Investors Relations has been working since 2004 as a part of the Office of the President of the Board and tries to communicate with stakeholders, that is to say, investors on a regular basis and give them information promptly and correctly.
