Podravka has decided for the sustainable development and it specially takes care of the environment protection. Its efforts are reflected in the existing production activities, the development of new products and technologies, the building of new plants, the raw materials and various types of energy, the colleting and recycling of waste and air emissions.

The essential goal of Podravka is through education let them know, and business processes improve the employees' attitude to the environment and increase the efficiency.

• Reduction of packaging materals by using thinner wrappings and replacable materials.
• The Reduction of energy consumption even at the designing of the facilities use the more effective solutions, and also improving the production prosesses and implementing the new methods of maintenance.
• The reduction of indirect energy consumption by modernizing or building new energy plants and by regular and high quality maintenance.
• The Reduction of the relative energy consumption per unit product, the reduction of emission of greenhouse gases into the environmets and other actions.
• Undertaking various activities in order to reduce water consumption (building the water flow measurement devices, using the recirculation system with additional cooling processes ).
• By increasing the efficiency of all the facilities which produce greenhouse gas emissions and by their regular and high quality maintenance we reduce the fuel consumption for the energy production and we lower the emissions.
  
• At Podravka there is no gas emissions that deplete the ozone layer, and other significant gas emissions are lower than the amounts legally allowed.
• Waste waters are under special scrutiny. They are discharged into public waste water discharge and waste water treatment. All the waste water comply to maximum allowed limits (MDK).
