Croatian Prime Minister Kosor visited Podravka

Jadranka Kosor, Croatian lady Prime Minister, with her associates, ministers Đuro Popijać and Branko Bačić and the vice president of the Croatian National parliament Josip Friščić visited Podravka on 19th January. On the occasion Podravka Management Board president Miroslav Vitković introduced Kosor with Podravka's history, results achieved, plans, vision and mission of the company. Discussing Podravka's contribution to preserving the development of Croatian economy, Vitković emphasized that every year Podravka pays about 450 to 500 million kunas into national budget, and further plans are related to preserving employment, further internationalization and thus strengthening of the Croatian economy.

"During the past year Podravka has undergone a challenging period which it successfully managed to overcome and now it is moving forward. Our company today is one of the few in Croatia that in the next three or four years has flexible financial stability and it is definitely the most transparent company in Croatia", Podravka Supervisory Board president Ljubo Jurčić said.

Satisfied with what she saw and heard, lady Prime Minister Kosor said: "I am very happy that in crisis you are achieving good business results, and I am particularly pleased that you have been saving where it was possible, maintaining employment at the same time. You are a good example of how business is to be run, particularly due to the fact that you operated under extremely difficult circumstances. Our decision to install Ljubo Jurčić in Podravka proved a very good one and it is important that you managed to overcome the mayor difficulties and to stabilize the company. I support the idea that Podravka be the locomotive of the development of Croatian agricultural-food processing complex, since your company has great potentials.

Talking about this year's ending the process of Croatian negotiation before Croatia becomes the part of the European Union, Prime Minister Kosor pointed out that that opens up a great potential for Podravka and that she will continue, like she has been doing it so far abroad, to promote and to lobby for the company which was proclaimed to be of special interest for Croatia.
