The most frequent forms of additional training are: seminars with top experts and instructors for particular fields of knowledge and skills (for organisational and especially managerial competencies), postgraduate studies, attending leading business schools and other forms of specialist training.
- Which professional profiles will mostly be needed at Podravka in the following period?
Podravka is interested in top quality people from the following disciplines: economy, food technology, pharmacy and biochemistry, law, computer and information technology, chemistry and chemical technology, psychology, medicine and mathematics.
- What are the steps in the employment procedure?
As we receive candidate offers in the Employment and Personnel Development Department, we list them into our data base of potential employees from which we select those that best fit identified job requirements. The selected candidates are then invited for an interview and psychological testing, and the most successful of them will be invited to another round of interviews.
- Can a candidate who has been offered a job visit his/her future post and city of work in order to meet associates before making his/her final decision
We would gladly welcome such initiative from candidates and up to now there have been occasions when meetings with future associates and place of work were required from the candidate.
- Who conducts interviews with candidates?
The Director of the Sector and/or Department announcing the vacant job and an expert from the field of Human Resource Management conduct interviews with candidates.
- What will the employment trend be like in the following period?
In the previous period Podravka employed a number of young experts with university qualifications from economics and food technology disciplines. The employment trend in the following period is not expected to drop, which means that there will be a certain number of new employments.
- Why does Podravka exercise candidate selection?
Selection is carried out so we can learn more about the candidate, his knowledge, capabilities and motives and find a person whose characteristics will best fit the job requirements.
- What sort of questions can be expected at the interview?
During the interview we tend to collect information which indicates future candidate behaviour on the job, and at the same time the candidate is given a chance to learn more about the job he/she is interested in.

Therefore, internship in our company is well defined, structured and organised in order to achieve successful induction.
- What does the internship programme consist of?

The internship programme consists of two basic modules:
- General internship programme
- Specialist internship programme where equal importance is given to acquiring expert-specialist knowledge as well as gaining in-depth understanding of the company, its organisation, culture, corporate standards and procedures, and also the people who work there.
- What is the general programme of the POMAK Academy?

The general POMAK programme is divided into two basic modules:
FBA (Fundamentals of Business Administration Programme), covers the so-called “hard” managerial competencies and consists of submodules covering the field of financial, marketing, strategic, global and general management.
Submodule lecturers are full time professors from the Faculty of Economics of Zagreb as well as foreign professors and lecturers from different schools of business, MBA programmes and similar.LEADER has been developed for the purpose of developing so-called „soft“ managerial competencies and skills, covering submodules from the field of leadership, motivation, management, communications, negotiating and other.

POMAK participants are higher and top level management of the Podravka Group who are assessed and recogniesed as having high developmental potential.
- What opportunities for developing managerial competencies does the company offer
POMAK is certainly the leading programme for developing managerial competencies but other programmes such as programmes for the development of Sector Directors and seminars for building key competencies are organised regularly.
- What is POMAK?
"POMAK is Podravka’s Management Academy established in 2003. Led by the company’s strategic guidelines and recognizing corporate policy guidelines, our company, in cooperation with the Faculty of Economics of Zagreb, has established a training programme for managers under the name: Podravka Management Academy - "POMAK". The purpose of this training programme is to better fulfil demands that the present market economy conditions place before the company.
- What is the second official language of the company?
English is the second official language of the company, thus the company standard is defined by exams based on the European Council ALTA (Association of Language Testers in Europe) standards and the level of English language fluency is certified by taking the Cambridge ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) exam.
