Management System

Quality of products and business processes and continual improvement of business activities are Podravka's permanent strategic goal. The demands and satisfaction of our customers and consumers, as well as all other stakeholders(owners, employees, suppliers, financial institutions, the community), must be balanced and systematically communicated via all of our business processes, the corporate function of Business Quality has been established.

The mission of this corporate function is development, implementation and maintenance of an intergrated management system based on standards: these include: ISO 9001:2000 (Quality Management System), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System), ISO 18001 (OHSAS - Occupational Health & Safety Audit System), OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health&Safety Audit System), HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) principles, as well as other standards and regulations concerning the food industry and its markets, (IFS - International Food Standard, BRC - British Retail Consortium, NSF, Halal etc.). In addition, projects of Business Excellence are being coordinated and employee training in these areas is carried out at all levels.

  • Up to now, the basic business processes have been systematically organised according to the ISO 9001:2000 requirements:
  • Podravka d.d. for development, production, sales and distribution of food seasoning products, semi-cooked dishes and soups, teas, fruit and vegetable products, baby food, pudding powder, baking ingredients, snack products, non-alchoholic beverages, fresh and frozen pastry products and desserts, bottling of spring and mineral water, grain storage (with certificate: DNV);
  • Danica d.o.o. for development, production, sales and distribution of meat and meat products ( With Certificate: DNV)
  • Podravka Polska Sp. zo. o., for development, production, sales and distribution of food seasoning products (With Certificate: DNV)
  • Podravka - Lagris a. s., for development, production, sales and distribution of rice, leguminoses, spices, food seasonings, fruit and vegetable products, nut and oil seed products, pastry products, salt, lemon acid, dry potato products, soup basic ingredients, sauce and dry dessert mixes and the production of instant powdery beverages and wholesale of food ( With Certificate: EFSIS)

According to the Requirements of International Food Standard - IFS:

  • The factory of Vegeta, soups and semi-cooked dishes ( With Certificate: DNV)
  • The Factory Kalnik for vegetable chutney and vegetable sauces ajvar i umake od povrća (With Certificate: DNV)
  • Podravka Polska for universal food seasonings ( With Certificate: DNV)
  • Podravka - Lagris a. s. for the same range as ISO 9001 without salt and dry potato products (With Certificate: EFSIS)

According to the Requirements of Global Standard Food - BRC, British Retail Consortium:

  • The factories of Vegeta Soups and semi-cooked dishes ( With Certificate: DNV)
  • Podravka Polska (With Certificate: DNV)

According to the Requirements of NSF:

  • The Studenac Factory, Lipik for all the bottling water of the Brand Studena (With Certificate: NSF)

According to the Requirements of the HALAL standards:

  • Podravka Danica d.o.o. for the following products: sterilised can of chicken, turkey and beef Halal meat, quicklyfrozen products of hached formed beef Halal meat, brzosmrznuti proizvodi od usitnjenog oblikovanog goveđeg Halal mesa, long-term and half-term products of beef Halal meat and pasteurized meat products of turkey and chicken Halal meat (boiled).   • The Factory of Cocktail snacks for powder for dairy puddings (Flavours : vanilla, hazelnut-chocolate, chocolate). (With Certificate: The Halal Agency)

It should be mentioned that a Food Safety System based on HACCP principles has also been developed and implemented in the aforementioned areas, as well as in Ital-Ice. A HACCP system had been developed and implemented in the Danica d.o.o. meat complex even earlier. The HACCP system has also been implemented in the Podravka facilities placed in Hungary and in Podravka Polska in Kostrzyn, Poland. HACCP is internally verifiedi and is subject to regular inspection controls. Podravka's HACCP educational centre (the only one of its kind in Croatia) is registered as part of its corporate Quality Management system, and holds a license from the British RIPH (Royal Institute for Public Health), a world-renowned institution in this field.

In the coming year, our efforts will be directed mainly at implementing Environmental Management System and the Podravka management has begun the special project for its implementation. Upon completion of the project, the system will be integrated into the existing management system.

Podravka is a member of EFQM (European Foundation for Quality Management) and is dedicated to the Business Excellence. i opredijeljena za poslovnu izvrsnost. The Elements of Business Excellence are being incorporated into the business processes in order to improve the efficiency of the existing business activities.

The management system is transforming by introducing innovative measurements of efficiency(performance measurement) and by establishing management of process perfomance (process performance management). The goal is to create an integrated and modern management system for sustainabilty.

The representatives of Podravka's corporate Quality Management System are active in all organisations concerned with systematic approach to quality in Croatia: (HDK - the Croatian Society for Quality, HDMK - the Croatian Society of Quality Managers,) as well as the leading European organisations (EOQ - European Organization for Quality - and EFQM - European Foundation for Quality Management). Podravka's approach to quality is also defined in its Quality Policy, one of the essential documents of its Management System.

Podravka's activities and results in the area of Quality Management prove its ability to meet the demands of EU markets by establishing more effective business practices.
