Quality of products and business processes and continual improvement of business activities are Podravka's permanent strategic goals. The demands and satisfaction of our customers and consumers, as well as all other stakeholders (owners, employees, suppliers, financial institutions, the community) must be balanced and systematically communicated through all of our business processes. To achieve a systemic management system, standardization and business processes improvement, corporate function Business Quality has been established.

The mission of this corporate function is development, implementation and maintenance of an integrated management system based on the following standards:

  • ISO 9001 (Quality Management System),
  • ISO 14001 (Environment Management System),
  • ISO 22 000 (Food Safety Management System),
  • OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health & Safety Audit System),
  • HACCP Codex Alimentarius (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) principles and other norms and regulation concerning the food industry
  • and its markets IFS - International Food Standard, BRC - British Retail Consortium, NSF, Halal, Kosher, etc.

Apart from this, Business Quality provides coordinated employee training in these areas at all levels.

Up to now, business processes have been systematically organised according to the ISO 9001:2008 requirements at:

  • Podravka d.d. for development, production, sale and distribution of food seasoning products, semi-cooked dishes, soups, processed fruits and vegetables, baby food, cream spreads, powdered semi product desserts, snack products, mill products, fresh and frozen bakery products and confectionary, ice-cream, juices and non-alcoholic beverages, natural spring and mineral waters, cereal storage.
    Development, sale and distribution of fish and fish products, packed tea, honey and frozen program. (with certificate: SGS);
  • Danica d.o.o. for development, production, sale and distribution of meat and meat products. (with certificate: SGS)
  • Podravka Polska Sp. zo. o., for production, sales and distribution of food seasoning products. (with certificate: SGS)
  • Podravka - Lagris a. s., for development, production, purchasing, packing and distribution of rice, legumes, spices, seasonings, processed fruit and vegetables, oil seeds, mill products, salt, citric acid, dry potato products, soup bases, sauces, gravies and dry desert mixes. Production of soft instant powder drinks. Food wholesales. (with certificate: SAI Global)

According to the Requirements of HACCP Codex Alimentarius:

  • Podravka d.d. for development, production and distribution: food seasoning products, dehydrated foods (soups, sauces, pasta with sauces, dried semolina dumplings and meat balls), snack products, powdered semi product desserts, instant powdered drinks, baby food, cream spreads, pasteurized and sterilized vegetables, mustard, horseradish, sauces and side dishes, fruit products, tomato products, mill products, fresh and frozen bakery products, confectionery and related products, soft drinks, spring and mineral waters, ice creams and confectionery products. Cereal storage.

  • Danica d.o.o. for development, production, sale and distribution of meat and meat products. (with certificate: SGS)

According to the Requirements of International Food Standard - IFS:

  • The factory of Vegeta, soups and semi-cooked dishes
  • The Factory Kalnik for vegetable chutney and vegetable sauces

Production of pasteurized vegetable condiments, aivar and sauces.

  • Podravka Polska Sp. z o.o.  (with certificate: SGS)
  • Podravka - Lagris a. s. for the same range as ISO 9001 without salt and dry potato products (with certificate: SAI Global)

Production of rice and legumes packed in retail packing at the Dolni Lhota site. Production of rice and legumes in bulk packaging and production of spices, seasonings, processed fruit and vegetables, seeds, instant drinks, cereal products, salt and potato products was excluded from the scope.

According to the Requirements of Global Standard Food - BRC, British Retail Consortium:

  • The factories of Vegeta Soups and semi-cooked dishes (with certificate: SGS)
  • Podravka Polska Sp. z o.o. (with certificate: SGS)

According to the Requirements of NSF:

  • The Studenac Factory, Lipik for all the bottling water of the Brand Studena (with certificate: NSF)

According to the Requirements of the HALAL standards:

  • Podravka Danica d.o.o. for the following products: sterilised can of chicken, turkey and beef Halal meat, fast-frozen products of hashed formed beef Halal meat, durable and semi-durable products of beef Halal meat and pasteurized meat products of turkey and chicken Halal meat (boiled) (with certificate: The Halal Agency)

Food safety system based on HACCP principles has also been developed and implemented in all the factories and companies Ital-Ice d.o.o., Danica d.o.o., Lero d.o.o., Podravka Polska Sp. z o.o. and Podravka Lagris a.s. HACCP has been internally verified and is regularly inspected, and has been certified in the majority of factories and companies (see Certificates).

In 2010 the Quality Managemeny System and Food Safety Management System have been certified according to the new revision of the ISO 9001:2008 norm and the certification has been extended to Ital-Ice d.o.o. company.

Podravka's representatives of Business Quality are active in all associations dealing with systemic approach to quality in Croatia (HDK - Croatian Quality Association, HDMK - Croatian Association of Quality Managers), and they are in contact with European organizations - (EOQ - European Organization for Quality), and EFQM (European Foundation for Quality Management). Podravka's activities and results in the area of management systems prove its ability to meet the demands of global markets by establishing a more effective business practice.
